Out & About in The Gambia

The beaches are beautiful and unspoilt with vast expanses of sand where you will feel at times that it is your own personal beach, the most perfect place to take a walk, a horse ride along the surf or hire a quad bike. Have fresh fruit juice made at the local juice bars that are dotted along the shore or buy a plate of fresh fruit peeled and prepared by the local Gambian women. Sunbathe at one of the bar/restaurants situated on the beach and order catch of the day; you know its fresh as you would probably have watched it being brought in.

There are numerous places to visit and many things to see in The Gambia. There are lots of different excursions, river and fishing trips, creek tours, take a return trip to Senegal, walk with the lions at Fatala Park, a favourite with our guests, visit the many markets and barter for the wood carvings, crafts and fabric, you could even have a tailor make it up for you ready to take home. Visit the crocodile pool, Abouko nature reserve, take a trip up country where there are safari style camps.

Excursions can be arranged with a local tour company or if you prefer why not hire your own personal tour guide who can tailor your trip to suit your interests, these are just a few suggestions to give you a taste of what The Gambia has to offer. We have a wealth of knowledge and can point you in the right direction for whatever you would or would not like to do!
